Next week, Adult Swim will begin its sixth annual Singles Program series, premiering a brand new track from some of the world’s best every Monday until mid-October. The electronic, rap, and hip hop scenes are represented in spades with a truly staggering 2015 line up. Skrillex, MF Doom, Flying Lotus, SOPHIE, Shabazz Palaces, Slayer, Danny Brown, Yung Lean, and Run the Jewels are only some of the acts to be hosted.
Adult Swim is not an inexperienced collaborator, as they’ve worked together with myriad artists of all different genres and backgrounds in the past. Odd Future had Loiter Squad, a 15-minute sketch comedy that centered around the gang’s antics and music. Metalocalypse spawned the creation of a real live Dethklok metal band. The channel’s associated label Williams Street has featured unreleased tunes from artists such as Freddie Gibbs, LCD Soundsystem, Death Grips and many more. With this massive catalogue of support from artists of such high caliber, it’s fair to say that whoever’s making these choices over at Adult Swim deserves a raise.
This year, Skrillex’s contribution comes in the form of an R&B-influenced track co-produced by Clams Casino, with vocals from both Kelela and Hak.
