For as long as EDM has brought music fans together, so have competitive racing video games.
Perhaps that’s a bit of a stretch, but games like San Francisco Rush 2049, Hydro Thunder, and Need For Speed have united young friends for decades over the competitive nature of racing. And in a similar fashion, many producers have began to play games on streaming platforms like Twitch with their fans to foster a closer sense of camaraderie.
And it seems this tendency even extends to the world’s #1 DJ.

It’s unlikely that Hardwell will be online that often (or at all), but fans will have an online place to congregate and compete against each other. And if there’s one thing I learned in all my psych classes in college, it’s that a little friendly competition can do a whole lot of good. Besides, who wouldn’t want to see this everyday?
