IMS Engage Addresses Key Issues In Today’s Electronic Music Industry

Featuring a myriad of conversations, this Wednesday’s IMS Engage in at the W Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles was a cornucopia of talented and successful individuals there to present there unique insights on the electronic music industry, and the music industry at large.

The most entertaining discussion was undoubtedly between Chuck D of Public Enemy and Seth Troxler, who has previously ignited blogs and media with his unfiltered and unapologetic views. Their discussion lacked any sense of format or cohesion, yet still brought forth a great deal of intelligent one-liners and entertaining quips from the both of them.

The day started off with Jake Udell and a very-under-the-weather Lyor Cohen, whose dry wit was only accentuated by his sickness.

Next up was MMG CEO David Grutman, whose properties include LIV and Story Nightclubs in Miami, and Jason Strauss, a partner at TAO Group (Tao, Marquee, LAVO). Their discussion focused mainly on the propensity of various clubs, establishments and festivals to thrive, and what it takes to make a club successful.
