About a month ago we were treated to Habstrakt‘s ‘Cool Cats Never Die Pt.1’ – two sturdy and incredibly well produced pieces of dubstep. Now, having left us hanging for a fortnight, the French producer brings us ‘Pt.2’ of the extravaganza – and the themes of the second half take him into brand new and exciting territory.
Habstrakt and house music may not be two words you would pair together but his grimy, groove-laden take on the genre make for infectious listening. ‘Gimme’ ft. Badjokes enters at a house tempo, building into a bouncy, bassline-led inspiring blend of genres. ‘Time’, which closes the entire EP, takes things on a slightly darker tip, using more intricate production techniques.
