Apple Teams Up With The Gaslamp Killer For New iPad Commercial

Music and Apple are no strangers to each other. The pair have been inseparable sing iTunes, obviously, but it goes a lot deeper than that, too. Music development and creation has always been at the forefront of Apple’s mind, even going so far as to preload their computers with creation software – Garageband. It’s no surprise that their mobile device division is similarly inclined.

You might remember the commercial with Chinese band Yaoband from last year, but now the team behind iPad have a new commercial with a particularly more electronic focused directive. Enlisting the help of L.A.-native and legend The Gaslamp Killer, along with Elliphant and Riton, the commercial follows along with the creation of the song “All or Nothing” by Elliphant (Riton iPad Remix feat. The Gaslamp Killer).

The text and recording capabilities are fairly obvious, but the pads and live play elements are really, really neat. People might say that an iPad is a terrible DJ tool because it doesn’t conform to the traditional idea of what DJing is. But in reality, if it allows you to play your music in a way that you connect with, it can’t be a bad thing, right?

Have any of you played live with an iPad or used it to create music? Let us know in the comments.
