deadmau5 Nominated For Artist of the Year at 2015 JUNO Awards

Ah, awards season. Aside from festival season, this is one of the busiest times of the year for artists, though likely considerably less enjoyable.

The Grammy’s are around the corner, and Europe has already seen its fair share of awards, so it’s fairly reasonable that Canada should be joining in the festivities, too.

The JUNO Awards have been running since 1970 and has seen artists such as Neil Young, Avril Lavigne, and Michael Bublé win the prestigious Artist of the Year award. Of course, no Canadian awards show would be complete without our favorite troll, deadmau5. He’s been nominated for the category twice in the past three years, and again this year, up against Leonard Cohen, The Weeknd, Bryan Adams, and Sarah McLachlan. Having been denied a Grammy every year he’s been nominated, as well as being denied the JUNO, could this possibly be the year he nabs both?

Deadmau5 is also nominated for Electronic Album of the Year, up against Caribou, Plastikman, and Ryan Hemsworth.

Deadmau5 has previously been awarded a JUNO for Dance Recording of the Year in 2009 and 2010 for Random Album Title and For Lack Of A Better Name, respectively.

The JUNO Awards will be held on March 15th.
