Before we rang in 2015, a fresh ID surfaced on Oliver Heldens’ radio show titled, “Rumors.” At first listen, the track sounded very familiar to Heldens’ signature style and many people attributed the song to him without total confirmation. Dutch imprint, Spinnin’ Deep, has finally released the identity of the producers behind the future house smash and it is rising Dutch duo, Pep & Rash.
The future house newcomers delivered fans a taste of their artistry with their single, “Fatality,” but “Rumors” sets the bar even higher. Constructing a blazing percussion arrangement to get feet shuffling on the dance floor, Pep & Rash implement slick synth rhythms and an electrifying future house drop to reinforce the mysteriously distorted vocals at the front of the track. Breaking onto the scene with “Rumors,” we can only expect bigger things from Pep & Rash as the year begins.
