Alex Omes, one of the co-founders of Ultra Music Festival has passed away at 43. According to Miami New Times, reports of Omes’ death first appeared on social media early this morning , though the cause of death is still unknown.
The Miami nightlife legend is responsible for the creation of Ultra Music Festival, one of the largest dance music gatherings in North America. He and business partner Russell Faibisch oversaw Ultra from 1999 to 2010, where they parted ways after a series of conflicts.
Omes achievements also include several successful events in Miami in 2011 and 2012 with Swedish House Mafia, who would go on to take the world by storm for 2 years before splitting up after closing Ultra Music Festival XV back in 2013. For over two decades, Alex Omes was a staple in the Miami nightlife scene and will be missed by all those who knew him.
