Gutter Brothers: Gutter House EP

2014 was a marvelous year for hybrid trap, future bass, and deep house. These genres absolutely exploded over the course of last year. The growing musical diversity was inspiring artists central to one genre a to try new things, or completely flip the script on their fans to give them an entirely new experience. Making this shift to a more diverse, even genreless style of music production is something that underground bass music duo, Gutter Brothers are certainly no stranger too. Although they began their career with a flurry of massive trap tunes, Valentin Cain and Colin Overholt have been exploring all walks of EDM over the past year and half or so, pushing themselves to create unique new sounds that you can’t stop listening too.

This has yielded is a marvelously unique Ep that combines Deep House and Trap music into one astoundingly well done release that I am proud to say is out now on Your EDM Records. I have said before that these guys are some of the most underrated artists in the scene right now, and this Ep is a perfect example of what I’m talking about.

Something like this almost sounds too good to be true. A Deep House and Trap music hybrid EP, the first month after the biggest year for both those genres, is a fantastically brilliant way to kick off 2015 if you can pull it off. These two have somehow managed to do much more than that. They might have just kicked off a brand new style of music that I for one, would love to hear more of. Make sure to grab this release if you fancy yourself a music fan, this is exactly what we needed to kick off the new year. Just don’t forget who started Gutter House when festival season rolls around.
