For those who are well-versed in the progressive house scene, it is known that Steve James was one of the hottest newcomers of 2014. His popularity took off with his remix of ZHU’s “Faded”, which has since eclipsed well over a million plays. A string of strong releases has followed since then and in turn an increasing fan base with every new track.
He was recently tasked with remixing “Karaoke”, the latest single by Smallpools. Unsurprisingly, the result was as high quality as one would expect from him. Strong melodies is a common theme amongst all his music and that holds true again here. Impressive piano work is found throughout and he has brought back the pitch bend during the drop that he started using early last year. Overall, this is a fantastic rework and one of Steve’s finest releases yet.
