iPod Classics which have been discontinued as of a few months ago are now selling for hundreds more than their previous retail value. Some 160 gb models have fetched over a thousand dollars on ebay, but a vast amount are going at the healthy rate of $700. According to The Guardian more than 3,000 have been sold thus far.
Many have been surprised at it’s longevity given it’s old-world tech & design, which clearly lacks huge, high-definition touch screens and thin, “flimsy” construction. Now considered a collectible, we encourage all hipsters to thumb that click-wheel in public; just don’t lose your Classic, it may cost you quite a handsome sum.
