Martin Folb, known solo by the artist name MartyParty, and perhaps best known for his work in PANTyRAID, was truly an inspiration to many of today’s avid “bass-heads”. Many of you will remember both of his past projects for their glitch-driven bass drops and oddly melodic interlacing. It’s been clear to us for years that Martin and his fellows have a unique sense of sound, and his new project reinforces this thought.
Many producers have been switching from what their “norm” is, to a more experimental side, as of late. Going as far back as Skrillex’s jump from dubstep-based bass music (electro, and more), and even including the recent Knife Party release of Abandon Ship, we’re excited to hear what’s next.
Folb and Miami-borne Paul Gorman (who is now a prominent producer in Ibiza), are teaming up under the alias Primal Intent. The genre they are coining – Minimal Bass, which for Martin is based in minimal house and future bass, albeit loosely.

As with any experimental music, this album is to be taken with a grain of salt. You may like it, you may love it, all I can say is turn your bass up, sit back, and enjoy the experience for what it is, and as always, look out for future releases from Primal Intent.
The Album – Initial Descent can be purchased here, but much of it won’t be on SoundCloud until further notice.
