Nicky Romero and Afrojack Drop Their First Ever Collab “Back to Where We Started”

Nicky Romero and Afrojack have dropped their first ever collaborative single together, “Back to Where We Started.” Fresh off their II=I performance together at Amsterdam Music Festival, the new single is a perfect combination of each of the Dutch superstars’ sounds. Nicky’s house beats lay the foundation as we get that trademark Afrojack synth and groove during the drop.

If you were watching the AMF live stream, or were lucky enough to be there, you’ll recognize “Back to Where We Started” as the intro to their set. It’s been featured in each of their recent individual sets as well. The track begins with an intro that will be familiar to fans who have listened to Nicky’s latest tunes. The drop feels much more comfortable in an Afrojack set. Regardless, it’s an absolute party starter. If you want to see people jumping around, this is the track to drop.  Here’s what the two Nicks had to say about their long awaited collab.

“After many years of friendship and remix work back and forth on each other’s imprints, it was time to finally level up in the form of our first official collaboration ever. Super happy we found a way to blend both styles into one hybrid club tune.” – Nicky Romero

“Nicky and I have been friends and worked together for many years, and we had a great time finally making our first official collaboration and performing it together during our back-to-back set at AMF this year!” – Afrojack

Listen to “Back to Where We Started,” out now on Protocol. Re-live Nicky Romero & Afrojack’s II=I set from this year’s Amsterdam Music Festival as well.
