Above & Beyond and Mat Zo Team Up for Darker New Track, “Always Do”

Above & Beyond and Mat Zo have finally released their long-anticipated collab “Always Do.” Originally played out during last summer’s Group Therapy 450 celebration in London, “Always Do” takes Mat Zo’s underground, warehouse-ready sound and imbues it into Above & Beyond’s house-based trance beats. While Mat Zo previously remixed A&B’s “Thing Called Love” back in 2012, “Always Do” is their first official collaboration.

Featuring distorted vocals and acid-laden basslines, this is not the A&B that you might be used to. This is delectable, underground club music, no doubt, due to the presence of Mat Zo. It’s like a supercharged version of going through those ice levels in Super Mario 64. Every synth note and drum beat hits you in a real specific place. As much as this is an after hours track, it’s very upbeat.

2022 figures to be a busy year for the venerable dance music trio. You can catch Above & Beyond at Beyond Wonderland in Southern California on March 26. Mat Zo will be performing at upcoming Anjunabeats shows in Miami and London. He’ll be joining A&B at their Group Therapy Weekender at The Gorge in Washington in July as well.

Listen to the latest from Above & Beyond and Mat Zo, “Always Do,” out now on Anjunabeats.
