Fedde Le Grand and 22Bullets Team Up For New Dancefloor Heater “Bang Bang”

Fedde Le Grand is back and he’s starting off 2021 with a sultry and club-friendly take on a classic, “Bang Bang.” Fedde teams up with Thai producer/DJ 22Bullets to update Nancy Sinatra’s 1966 hit “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down).” Sinatra’s version is itself a cover of a Cher song, but it got revived for a new generation when it soundtracked the opening credits to Quentin Tarantino’s 2003 masterpiece Kill Bill Vol. 1. “Bang Bang” got an EDM revival when David Guetta covered it back in 2014 with Skylar Grey on vocals, but Fedde’s version uses the Sinatra vocal.

What makes this version so special? Everything; the tempo is massively sped up and the famous tremolo guitar part is swapped out (something Guetta didn’t do in his version). Instead there’s guitar plucks that keep the tempo of the track. There’s subtle, but effective Latin drums and percussion in the background to keep the groove. The drop is perfectly suited for the dancefloor, and is, dare I say, sexy even! I certainly didn’t know that I could use some Nancy Sinatra in my life, but thanks to Fedde Le Grand & 22Bullets, we’re all better off for it.

Check out the latest from Fedde Le Grand & 22Bullets, “Bang Bang” out now via Signatune/Sony. Relive his awesome live stream for DJ Mag’s Top 100 Virtual Festival as well.
