2020 was a big year for Nicky Romero. It was certainly one of the most prolific years musically the Dutch megastar has had yet. He released a club EP, Redefine, he unveiled his Monocule alias, and he was a constant presence on live streams, including his Another World special. Now, Nick is picking up in 2021 right where he left off with “Into the Light.”
“Into the Light” is a gorgeously produced track that will have you swaying side to side, before getting down to the bouncy drop. Nick teams up with fellow Dutchman and Protocol labelmate Timmo Hendriks on this one. The song opens with some ethereal piano notes playing alongside the soaring vocals of David Shane. There’s definitely some Above & Beyond/Anjunabeats type vibes going on here. Either way, the vocals are very hopeful and uplifting. The drop is where it’s at though; some fun, bubbly synths paired up with a great beat that would bump on the dancefloor speakers.
