Tritonal released their highly anticipated collaboration with Dylan Matthew and Au5, “Happy Where We Are,” last month. The track is a sweeping and emotional epic, fitting of all parties involved in the production. Now, “Happy Where We Are” is getting the progressive trance treatment from ilan Bluestone, and we couldn’t be, ahem, happier!
Whereas the original version of “Happy Where We Are” opens with light piano notes and some future bass melodies, Bluestone does away with all of that. Instead, the remix opens with some kick drums beating away at 133 BPM and some plucky bass synths to get the groove going. After the tempo has been set, Bluestone comes in with some gorgeous 80s sounding synths. You can picture people with bad mullets and pastel colors dancing away to the beat.
The one thing the remix does carry over from the original is Dylan Matthew’s stunning vocals. He is without question one of the best male vocalists for emotional dance music. After Matthew’s verse, there’s a massive drum buildup and we finally get the powerful drop with melodic synths and that pulsing trance beat that’s perfect for the festival stage or the club.
