I’m not quite sure who holds the record for most tracks put out in a single year, but R3HAB is making damn sure that his 2020 is one for the books. The Moroccan-Dutch superstar DJ has been unrelenting in his release schedule this year. He’s already dropped 12 singles and 13 remixes this year! Now, you can add one more to each category, with each track highlighting R3HAB’s versatile production style.
For his newest single, R3HAB once again teams up with Olivia Holt for “love u again”. This track perfectly represents R3HAB’s shift to a more radio-friendly sound and his affinity for up and coming female vocalists. The two previously linked up on 2018’s “Wrong Move” where the former Kickin’ It star was a feature. Now she’s leveled up to top billing on this smooth, but forlorn, love song. The drop has a bouncy, tropical house feel that’s perfect for the waning days of summer. Olivia Holt’s vocals are affecting on this one, the line where she sings “you know you used to put me through hell, so why are you still looking like heaven” cuts deep.
If you’re more interested in R3HAB’s club side, then you won’t want to miss his remix for Jason Derulo’s “Take You Dancing.” The beat and bassline are trademark R3HAB and his old school fans will love the melodies thrown in after the chorus. It’s always a good time when Jason Derulo is on the speakers, although I can’t shake that image of him as a pants-less CGI cat.
