PREMIERE: NICOLOSI Releases Highly Anticipated Debut EP, ‘Everywhere But Here’ EP [Seeking Blue]

Born in Chicago, NICOLOSI (Sam Nicolosi) is a singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. As a teenager, Sam was discovered by none other than Plain White T’s frontman, Tom Higgenson, who helped Nicolosi record an album which eventually landed him a major publishing deal with Warner/Chappell.

Sam spent a few years writing and producing for other artists in LA, leading him to turn his focus back toward developing his own sound and honing in on his vision, which emerged into NICOLOSI.

His music is representative of the talent he possesses. NICOLOSI has a knack for fusing colorful melodies and deeply reflective lyricism into an irresistible indie-pop blend that encompasses his impressive debut EP ‘Everywhere But Here‘.

It’s loaded with 9 tracks, all well done, with my favorite being “The Money“. The second the vocals come in you’ll find yourself whisked away into this infectious hip-hop, indie-tronic masterpiece.

Here’s what NICOLOSI had to say about the EP:

[This EP] is an exercise in escapism. These songs were written at a time when I was constantly trying to escape myself, using different things as crutches to get through my daily life. I couldn’t face the paradox of extreme joy and sadness that comes with waking up everyday, knowing that one day it will all end. One day I will watch the sunset for the very last time and my consciousness will abandon my body for the next chapter in the universal narrative. The infinite beauty of birth and death – I’m enamored by it. Now I might seem super serious and you might be thinking “okay, but this guy has some really lighthearted songs – why is he trying to be so deep?” Humor, joy, frustration, sadness – it’s all part of the story. Levity is the most powerful tool we have.
