Earlier in the year, in the pre-COVID times, I noticed a trend of producers reaching back for more throwback styles. Whether it was piano house, 90s vibes, D&B, there was a lot of homage to the old school. Now, we get Kryder’s latest single, “LSD,” a thrilling and groovy homage to acid house.
Kryder has been keeping busy in 2020. The UK producer/DJ has been putting out a steady stream of releases on both Spinnin’ and Axtone this year. He’s also been pretty regular on live streams too. Now Kryder is back on Musical Freedom, 10 years after his first release on Tiësto’s iconic label. Kryder has also been doing special monthly mixes for Musical Freedom Radio to celebrate his decade with the label.
As I previously mentioned “LSD” is a straight throwback. From that analog sounding kick, the bubbling bassline, the snares in the buildup and the chants, it has that 90’s warehouse feel to it. The drop keeps the same bassline but now it’s the acid house synths. You can just picture a sweaty, packed club as those acid house notes keep playing. For now, play it during your late night house party, provided you don’t wake the neighbors up.
Listen to the latest from Kryder, “LSD,” out now on Musical Freedom. You can also listen to his latest Musical Freedom Radio residency mix too.
