Following the release of its lead-off single, ‘Rufio’s Theme,’ bass music heavyweight GANZ today dropped his full Lost Boys EP. Landing on UZ’s Quality Goods Records today is a further five beats that mark a return to ground-breaking form for the producer and DJ.
‘Lost Boys’ offers a completely immersive experience with subtle 808s, glistening melodies, and bass-driven beats that sparks with Ganz’s signature groove throughout. The opening tune of the EP ‘UGH!’ is a fully immersive sound that builds cinematic layers with rich instrumentals making it a triumphant opener. The next one is previously released ‘Rufio’s Theme’, which is followed by ‘Thud Butt’ loaded with a crisp rhythmical charge, this track bursts with vitality and persistent groove. The remaining tracks ‘No Naps’, ‘Fairy Dust’ and the title track showcase his versatility as a producer channeling his emotions and influences.
His work on ‘Lost Boys’ came from an organic place, and he explains: “I’ve learned to take more risks, sound-wise. I’ve tried a lot of different sounds and directions – of which a lot didn’t make me happy and didn’t feel like ‘me.’ This made me realise I needed to stay more close to myself, search for the next version of my sound and purely focus on the feeling I get when working on new music.”
