Valorant, the new first-person tactical shooter from Riot Games, has taken the community by storm. The free to play multiplayer game combines aspects of all the great FPS games over the years to produce a title uniquely built for competition and long-term interest.
Announced in April, the Valorant beta has had an explosive launch on streaming platforms that saw numbers to rival both Fortnite and League of Legends. Addictive game play, graphics that don’t require a $3000 desktop to run, and a highly competitive community has catapulted Valorant to the top of the charts.
11 different characters all with unique play styles allow for teams to be creative in their strategy and still have a specific role. All of the characters are fairly balanced leading to a more rounded experience and less fighting over “who gets to be what.”
Yes, the pandemic has played a role in the heightened viewer count and overall interest, but simply playing the game for 30 minutes will show you why everyone is buzzing about Valorant. The official release date is June 2nd, 2020 but you can sign up ahead of time here. Don’t miss out on what is sure to be a global sensation!
