Producer Rootkit has teamed up with ever-present vocalist Nevve to deliver another feel-good anthem titled ‘Only Knew.’ Just in time for the weekend and to help lift our spirits in self-isolation, the new single is the producers first signing on bitbird.
Following on from releases on Monstercat, this debut work for San Holo’s label showcases real sonic diversity and growth. ‘Only Knew’ is a future bass, pop crossover track filled with angst and emotion, complemented by the tense vocals and uplifting synthesis in each drop.
Discussing the track, Rootkit says: ‘‘Only Knew was made after I received some vocals from Nevve. I decided to try a lot of different things with the vocals and ended up with 2 versions of the song. The version first being released I wanted to refresh my old drumstep style of music and hopefully in the way bring something new to the table.” 
With further releases planned through bitbird and a full album coming later in the year, Rootkit’s rise will undoubtedly continue to soar to fresh heights. In the meantime, take a listen to ‘Only Knew’ ft Nevve below.
