The UK is in the house on the latest collab between Snakehips and TroyBoi, “Wavez.” At it’s heart “Wavez” is a hip-hop track with some cool throwback synths thrown in just before the chorus. Combining TroyBoi’s bass sensibilities with Snakehips more throwback aesthetic, along with a strong UK flare. “Wavez” is super groovy track that’s perfect for either starting the night off at your house party or just playing in the car while driving.
“Wavez” is the first release of 2020 for Snakehips. The UK duo put out a couple of tracks last year including “Summer Fade” with Anna of the North and “Gucci Rock N Rolla” with Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo. TroyBoi had a very busy 2019 as well, releasing his V!BEZ, Vol. 3 EP to go along with his highly anticipated collab with Skrillex “WARLORDZ.” He’s also released “Mmmm” and “AJA AJA” so far in 2020 as well.
“Wavez” is definitely more dialed down from there, but it still features TroyBoi’s unique and unmistakable basswork while conveying all the vibes of a Snakehip track. This is definitely a track that should find its way into your rotation as we head into the spring and summer.
