Berlin nightclubs are taking action against coronavirus aka COVID-19.
This week, the Berlin Club Commission released a statement of measures to help protect revelers and nightlife employees alike from the spreading and infection of the viral disease. This comes as a result of a meeting with nearly 50 club operators and organizers across the capital city.
These measures include:
- Collecting contact information from visitors at every event
- Reducing venue capacity to 70%
- Offering additional hygiene facilities
- Providing handouts/information to visitors about coronavirus
Most notably, a “temporary closure of all operations is also being considered to interrupt the chain of infection.” Unfortunately, such a shutdown over the course of just a few weeks could result in the bankruptcy of nightclubs.
Some events, including Gegen and the Trauma Bar have already decided to cancel events.
