University of Colorado Denver Offers Electronic Digital Instrument Classes

The University of Colorado Denver is now offering students a focus in electronic music.

Study of the Electronic Digital Instrument (EDI) covers an ever-evolving combination of computers, MIDI controllers, software, keyboards and beyond.

At CU Denver, classes are available to students in the College of Arts and Media program. EDI pupils are able to mix a variety of four-year degrees with music theory, history, ear training, and more.

Chair of the Music and Entertainment Industry Department at CU Denver, Richard Strasser, said to Westword — “This is a seismic shift we are making.”

The Berklee College of Music in Boston is one of the only other places where students can study EDI at this level.
