SoundCloud: Upload Limits Are Not Changing

soundcloud soundcloud

SoundCloud has reversed its decision to instate upload limits after users sounded off strongly against them.

In a recent email that declared “lossless HD storage and downloads to all,” SoundCloud also snuck in a new policy. “Starting December 9th, our free upload limit will change from 3 hours of audio, to 3 hours or 15 tracks. ”

Considering many creators have already hit that mark or are nearing it, the only option for more space would have been SoundCloud’s “Pro Unlimited” program for about $12 – $16 per month. Thankfully, the platform has decided to not move forward with that plan after massive backlash from users.

SoundCloud says in a new statement: “Our mission is to empower you with the best tools to build and grow your career on your own terms, and to foster a community where creativity can thrive.”

“So keep it coming. Tell us what you think, what you want, and what you need. We are here, listening.”
