It’s been 20 months since we last got music from The Weeknd. My Dear Melancholy was a phenomenal, short EP in between projects that featured production from Gesaffelstein (ahead of his own comeback album), Skrillex, and Nicolas Jaar. Now, The Weeknd is prepped to start “A NEW BRAIN MELTING PSYCHOTIC CHAPTER” with his new single, “Heartless.”
Abel first hinted at a new album almost exactly a year ago. As many other sites conjectured, “Heartless” hints at his breakups Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez with lines like, “And I’m back to my ways ’cause I’m heartless / All this money and this pain got me heartless / Low life for life ’cause I’m heartless.”
That being said, it’s confirmed via ASCAP that he recently registered a song titled “Like Selena,” so we could be getting more breakup music soon.
