Paul van Dyk Teams Up With Vini Vici for First Single Off Forthcoming Album “Galaxy”

Paul van Dyk has just released the first single off of his forthcoming album Guiding Light. The trance pioneer has teamed up with the legends of psy-trance Vini Vici for “Galaxy” a classic PVD trance track with a dash of modern psy-trance. Paul has also announced a month long North American pre-tour, Mission: Guiding Light. Guiding Light is set to drop in January 2020, but this tasty collab should hold fans over until then.

The track starts out as a classic Paul van Dyk uplifting melodic trance song. Lush synths, a bright melody, that constant 135 BPM and a nice buildup. The drop just magnifies all of the production elements while throwing in some trademark PVD piano chords. After the first drop, we get a little psy-trance bridge, before the track goes back to the more classic PVD style. Organ like synths take over the track as it builds up against a spoken countdown, then we get to the Vini Vici part. The final 55 seconds of the track are full psy-trance, however, there’s not really a drop, it’s more of an extended outro. Nonetheless, “Galaxy” is a fantastic collab between one of the godfathers of trance and the biggest psy-trance DJs in the world.

Here’s what Paul had to say about the upcoming album and tour.

“It’s always an aim to inspire others through music, and that’s my mission with my new album Guiding Light. I collaborated with some of the most talented up and coming artists in trance music over the past year; recording sessions across the world, from my home studio in Berlin to hotel rooms in far corners of the globe. It’ll be a joy to share the album with my North American fans for the first time, can’t wait to see you all soon.”-Paul van Dyk
