There are plenty of EDM artists who combine rap with their own style, but there aren’t many who can say they’ve rapped on their own tracks — except Bishu.
Out now on Thrive Music, “Teardrops” is a wildly interesting blend of pseudo-mumble rap and EDM, with a consistent trap beat and auto-tuned vocals. A light guitar riff and drum loop keep the sound consistent throughout the tune.
In no way is this a peak hours club banger, but whenever I hear an artist start to use their own vocals on a song (and this is not the first time Bishu has done so), I start to think about the transition to live shows. Maybe that’s where he’s headed, maybe it isn’t, but the opportunity is there now.
