Just released as the official anthem to Eden Esport’s Champion’s Cup competition is the brilliantly written ‘Follow U’ from xo sad. A heavily textured listen seeped in glistening vocals and powerful instrumentals, we can see this one going the distance.
Its producers explain: “Follow U’ is a song about the importance of someone in your life. You can never go through the obstacles of living without the aid of family, friends or love. Here we wanted to depict the cry of gratitude that we express towards people that support us at our lowest and at our best, thus the line “I won’t fall if I follow you” – and share a common feeling that always appears hard to tell with simple words.”
It draws upon a combination of driving drums, sweeps of melody and soulful vocals to boot – a sublime display of songwriting and production from xo sad.
