KJ Sawka & Hi I’m Ghost already teamed up once earlier this year on their joint EP Misfits, which came out on Kannibalen. Now they’re together again on the much more rock-oriented “Lies & Egos.”
The track opens straight up with a muted guitar line and Nine Inch Nails-esque distorted vocals before dropping into rock drums. Apart from a synth here or there, prior to the drop, this could easily be a nu-metal song more than an electronic one. The end result is a crazy and balanced track that makes use of every player’s strengths.
