Glastonbury is already one of the biggest music festivals in the UK and the world — but it’s about to get even bigger.
According to a new report, Glastonbury has gained permission to increase capacity next year by the thousands. The resolution passed by the Mendip City Council’s Licensing Board.
What this means for Glastonbury — in 2020, approximately 210,000 attendees will be allowed on festival grounds. That’s a 3.4 percent increase from the estimated attendance of 203,000 in 2019.
If Glastonbury goes through with the expansion for next year, that will put 7,000 extra tickets into the hands of new attendees heading out to Worthy Farm.
Glastonbury 2020 is set to take place June 24-28, 2020. Tickets go on sale October 6.
