It’s been exactly one year that music lost a legend in Mac Miller.
On September 7, 2018, the devastating news of Mac’s death came as a complete shock to his entire fanbase an the industry as a whole. It became immediately apparent, the boundless impact he had on music and the world.
Hundreds of fans from all over came together on Friday to celebrate the late rapper’s life and legacy in his hometown of Pittsburgh. A bittersweet memorial was held at Frick Park’s Blue Slide Park, a playground made famous by Mac’s album and song under the same name.
Miller died as a result of a lethal mix of fentanyl and cocaine. Just recently, Cameron James Pettit was charged for supplying the rapper with counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl.
One year later, our hearts are still heavy. RIP.
