It’s always sad when an artist has to cancel a show, especially if it’s only the second show they’ve cancelled in the past ten years… unfortunately, that was the situation Griz was faced with this past weekend at Shambhala.
Shambhala posted about the cancellation on their own Instagram on Saturday, August 10, reporting vague “health reasons,” but fans were insistent on getting answers from the man himself and went to his comments on Instagram.
“Ate a suss poke bowl. Got food poisoning. Playing music is great and I love it but I’m not gonna do anything that fucks up my personal or mental health. That comes first and I’ve come to finally realize that. Only my second set I’ve cancelled in 10 years of griz gigs.”
He followed it up with a less revealing (and more public) explanation on Twitter. You can still catch Season 2 of the Ride Waves tour coming to a city near you. More info and dates here.
Wassup y’all. I missed @shambhala_mf cause I got food poisoning or at least that’s what I think it is when you have to sleep on your toilet and not because you drank too much. It sucks big time cause I absolutely adore that special place. My second show I’ve missed in 10 years.

There’s no way to make up that experience to you guys. I hope you all had/have a blast. Please take a dip in that freeze cold stream. It’s definitely the best way to wake up there 😘
