Timmy Trumpet Brings Out Russian Legend Vitas During Tomorrowland Set

You really never know what to expect at a festival like Tomorrowland. With hundreds of artists, hundreds of thousands of attendees, millions watching the live stream, the possibility for antics and surprises is limitless. Last year, we got the epic (and insanely viral) dance moves of Salvatore Ganacci, this year, Timmy Trumpet brought out Russian legend and singer of “The 7th Element,” Vitas.

If the name doesn’t sound familiar, we wouldn’t be surprised. After all, his fame in the US is mostly from a meme — and we know you know this one. Timmy Trumpet brought him out to perform the track live this year after playing it out last year; even the Tomorrowland crowd, though, didn’t really recognize the name when he was introduced. But as soon as he started singing, bet that everyone finally caught on.

After playing out a psytrance version of the track, Timmy introduced a new collaboration between the two of them, which appeared to be a cover of the Edvard Grieg classic “In The Hall Of The Mountain King.” In this version, however, the part of the strings is replaced by Vitas’ incredible near five-octave vocal range and coupled with a hard Melbourne bounce drop.

See what we mean about surprises? Check it all out below.
