3-Year-Old Girl In Critical Condition After Swallowing Ecstasy Found In Ibiza Playground

For some reason, a common myth persists that people will try to give your children ecstasy disguised as candy for Halloween. Unless the person is a complete sociopath with no regard for others, this myth has been mostly debunked. However, that doesn’t mean that parents should remain constantly vigilant. A 3-year-old girl is now fighting for her life after mistaking an ecstasy pill for a piece of candy on an Ibiza playground.

The girl was on vacation with her family on the Spanish island. The ecstasy pill was left in a park in Santa Eulalia, a town on Ibiza’s east coast which is popular with holidaymakers and families. It’s farther north up the coast than Ibiza’s heavier party area, Platja d’en Bossa.

“Tests have confirmed it was an ecstasy tablet and investigators are working on the theory someone had dropped it in the park and the little girl mistook it for a sweet,” local authorities told The Sun.

She remains in the intensive care unit as of Friday, according to officials. Authorities are investigating how the ecstasy tablet ended up in the park.
