An Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 is a major honor for any artist. Only the top tier artists, the true visionaries and pioneers of their craft are invited to spin on those hallowed decks for two hours. Soon, Rezz will add her name to that list of esteemed artists.
The Essential Mix offers artists the opportunity to really dive into their sound and explore new and old influences. It gives them a platform to be endlessly creative while also providing a wholly unique challenge in mixing a 2-hour selection of music.
With her Beyond The Senses EP due out July 24, Rezz will certainly have plenty of material to pull from — as she reveals in the announcement, the mix will be all original music. It’s perhaps something that actually could not have happened until now, but what a stellar time to do it.
