Though his name might not have been on the lips of fans the world over, we’ve missed Wave Racer. As one of the pre-eminent artists during the rise of future bass, along with Flume, Lido, Vindata and others, his technical ability and skill at writing melodies are among the cream of the crop.
Now, two years since his last years, he returns with “AUTO,” a brilliant demonstration that he hasn’t lost his touch. It has the sort of vocal fx of a Trippy Turtle song with the live instrumentation of Lido or San Holo and the melody all his own. It’s a fantastic return and a perfect summer song that we could play on repeat over and over again.
Best of all? It probably signals there’s much more coming.
