Your EDM Premiere: BINKS x Gnosis – Astral Projection [SKRONG]

Experimental, wonky bass isn’t for everyone. Some people prefer the intensity of riddim or the simplicity of minimal trap; everyone has their own preferences and that’s fine. For me, listening to a really unique bass synth or rhythmic tempo really gets my hair on end because there’s a real, understandable intent to do something differently.

The Transcendence EP from BINKS x Gnosis is out next week, May 7, on Mayhem’s label SKRONG. Today, I get to premiere the opening track from the EP, “Astral Projection.”

“Astral Projection” is slower than your normal dubstep tune, but has the same bass vibes. The strong sub rattles your bones while the quirky synths serve to give it all a little more depth and substance.

“This was a really exhilarating project for both of us because we wanted to create an atmospheric sensation of ancestral indigenous sound with modern day bass music. We both come from indigenous backgrounds so it gives us great joy to know our ancestry and incorporate it with modern day software tools that help us mold & shape sound itself. Gnosis & I proudly present to you all ‘Astral Projection.'” – BINKS

Check it out below, and stay tuned for Transcendence out next week.
