Manatee Commune – Growing Pains (feat. Samuel Eisen-Meyers)

What a beautiful Friday morning it is… the sun is out, the birds are singing, you wake up on time and with an extra pep in your step, ready for your first cup of coffee and some piping hot scrambled eggs, maybe with a side of bacon. What are you going to listen to? Something nice and chill, hopefully. Manatee Commune is here with “Growing Pains” to be the soundtrack for your peaceful mornings or chill, afternoon walks.

And yet, if you listen to the lyrics, it also gets quite a bit deeper. “Growing Pains is a song about exploring life in your mid 20s,” says Manatee Commune. “We are told we are supposed to have everything figured out by then, but this often is not the case. In the last year I’ve come to realize that I am doing exactly what I should be doing. Feeling the pains of growth is a sign of growth and every battle won is a step forward in the right direction. As long as you are doing what you love, you are on the right path.”

It’s no surprise that the song embodies that final feeling of inner peace and sureness of direction. With its smooth guitar and piano and effortless beats, it’s like it’s attempting help you locate your center and just focus on it. If you do, I guarantee you’ll feel better by the end.

“Growing Pains” is the fifth and final single ahead of the release of Manatee Commune’s album PDA, out May 3. Listen below.
