Play me something that lets me sing along and swing my hips, and you have my undying love. “Deeper” from Sultan + Shepard, featuring Carla Monroe, out today on Armada Music, is that “something.”
Monroe is undoubtedly the star on this track, her voice gliding softly atop the groovy house beats. However, there of course wouldn’t be a track to speak of without the production skills of S+S, who blend an upbeat house rhythm with melody piano chords. The result is an unspeakably cheerful tune that I could listen to on repeat.
