Malive just might be one of the most underrated producers out there — but it won’t stay that way for long. His new single “Guap” will make you stop dead in your tracks to listen.
You may have heard his song “Yali” on Malaa‘s Illegal Mixtape Vol. 2, or his own Heaven EP released on Tchami’s Confession. For me, I distinctly remember the first time I heard his collaborative track “Wolfs” and it completely consumed me. That same exciting feeling is back with “Guap.”
The Brazilian house megahead is here to shake things up with his intensely dark perspective. Aggressive distortion, driving rhythm and alluring vocal chops make this production stand out. Twists and turns await at every corner as the 5-minute story plays out.
Malive has an ability to reach out and steal souls, as heard loud and clear with this new single. To say “Guap” is a dark house masterpiece is by no means any stretch of the imagination. It’s worth obsessing over.
Pinnacle Collective expands on the release:
Always keeping his listeners guessing, Malive delivers a trip many, many years into the future of house with his latest installment, ‘Guap.’ The Brazilian producer serves up groovy punches and a fat baseline with a powerful side of vocal chop. A sound big enough to feed the whole family. We could use a thousand words to describe it, take a listen and see for yourself.
