Charli XCX and Troye Sivan ended 2018 with the hit collaborative track “1999,” blending funk and pop in a ridiculously fun way. Now, the song has gotten an official remix pack, including this cut from Young Franco.
Young Franco already has millions of plays on originals like “About This Thing” and “Miss You,” and now he adds this high-profile remix to his repertoire. It’s a pretty understated remix, all things considered, playing with the bassline and general vibe of the track. The biggest difference is the simplicity in it, getting rid of a lot of the clutter of the original. In that way, it almost seems Charli and Troye could have benefited from Franco producing the track in the first place.
