Over 40 various drug charges have been handed out as a result of Festival of the Sun. According to officials, there were 41 individuals throughout weekend that were busted.
Approximately 3,000 total people attended the Festival of the Sun event this year, which took place in Port Macquarie over December 13 and 16. Including more than 40 arrested on drug charges at the festival, 40 for possession and just one other charged with dealing.
Heavy police force and drug dogs helped to guide the operation. People were most commonly caught with substances including cannabis, MDMA, cocaine and LSD. 
Police also say on-site medical services treated approximately 40 people for “various issues.”
