Illenium battled addiction and came out on the other side. Now, he’s offering up his own story in hopes it can help others get through what he went through.
“Addiction is fucked. It makes you fall in love with something that can’t love you back,” the producer explains in the short yet powerful Vevo video below.
Through his music, Illenium consistently helps people going through their own struggles, but he’s also helping himself. “Every [new] song is part of a healing process,” Illenium reveals. For example, “Take You Down” details his overdose scare, which he also opens up about here.
