The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has become much more than just a runway with lingerie-clad models. It’s now a music and cultural event that is one of the year’s highlights, and last night’s broadcast did a great job of conveying the spectacle. The show was actually filmed November 8, so if you’re getting déjà vu right now, it’s understandable.
Of the performances during the show, the most relevant to our interests is undoubtedly The Chainsmokers with Kelsea Ballerini performing their newest hit, “This Feeling.” To everyone’s pleasure, this live version actually sounds better than the recording!
The live version clocks in about 30 seconds longer than the original, and that’s thanks to a new dancehall breakdown in the middle (paired perfectly with Barbara Palvin) and some live vocal embellishments from Drew. And speaking of which, Drew sounds amazing. You can really tell that he’s been taking his vocal training seriously, as he really shines in this performance. 
The Chainsmokers and Ballerini have already performed live together on Ellen and during a football halftime show, so their chemistry on stage also plays into the quality of this performance.
Though the show was mired in controversy (read here), the performances were certainly a highlight.
