In case you haven’t heard, Major League Gaming is becoming a massive industry. With games like Overwatch, League of Legends, PUBG, and Fortnite leading the way, MLG is becoming a legitimate source of income and also a career goal for aspiring gamers all across the world. And the crossover between gaming and EDM is so easy, DJs like Marshmello, Dillon Francis, and Deadmau5 have been taking advantage of it for months, if not years.
Now, Zedd is preparing to join New York’s first professional esports franchise, New York Excelsior (or ‘NYXL’), which launched in October 2017, as an honorary team member of the Overwatch League team this weekend.
We’re excited to announce that we’re hosting the honorary 11th member of the NYXL squad, @Zedd, this Saturday at our Shop&LAN. Come game and watch the Zedd @Mano_OWL duo we've been waiting for. Who says dreams don’t come true? #EverUpward

On Saturday, December 1, Zedd and the NYXL team will play friendly matches in front of hundreds of fans from across the city. The event is open to the public, and will take place at NYXL’s six-week retail Shop and LAN pop-up in Brooklyn, which includes a gaming center and exclusive merchandise from brands like Nike, Undefeated, Champion and more.
This is the team’s big Homecoming Weekend, where the players are coming back to New York for fan meet-and-greets, as well as exhibition matches against local gamers and the professional teams from Philadelphia and LA. Zedd’s game will take place before the Philadelphia game on Saturday.
