Rüfüs Du Sol Forced To Cancel Chicago Show Due To Technical Difficulties

RÜFÜS DU SOL RÜFÜS DU SOL

Fans of Rüfüs Du Sol in Chicago last night were intensely excited to see them perform at the Aragon Ballroom. Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, the trio were unable to perform and ultimately had to cancel the show.

The news came as a shock to fans especially as both openers’ performances went off without a hitch. But as Rüfüs’s set is quite a bit more involved than simply using CDJs, other technical equipment was required that simply wasn’t working properly.

One of the attendees at the show reached out to us and told us, “All of the support acts played their sets and the show was sold out. They tried changing a sound board out with a new one between sets, but the sound kept cutting out during intermission music. Rufus was supposed to go on at 10 (Chicago time), from what I know, and they came out [around 10:30] and said they couldn’t do it. Five min before they came out, the music went out as it had been and people started cheering really loud. Then it came back out again and they started booing, which I think is why they decided to finally call it.”

Rufus posted an apology to fans on Twitter after the show had been cancelled.

“We had serious technical issues that started after doors and meant we couldn’t get sound from the stage to the PA for more than a minute without it continually cutting out,” they explained. “Our team & Silver Wrapper tried everything they could to make this show work. Sincere apologies to everyone who came out. Refunds will be available, and we will be doing whatever we can to reschedule the show. Devastated. Tyrone, James and Jon.”

Hopefully Rüfüs will return to Chicago soon, because their Solace tour is absolutely not one to be missed.
