The Weeknd dropped his most recent EP, My Dear Melancholy,, earlier this year. It featured a number of collaborations with some of dance music’s top brass, including Gesaffelstein and Skrillex. Now, The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, has officially announced his next studio album, Chapter VI.
The news was revealed by Tesfaye himself during a show for the launch of his Toronto-based creative imprint Hxouse. “I want you guys to be the first to know that I’m working on my new album right now,” he told the audience last night (Nov. 6). “Chapter VI coming soon. Let’s get it.”
The Weeknd’s last major work before My Dear Melancholy, was his studio album Starboy which famously featured the return of Daft Punk.
We can only pray that Daft Punk come back again for this one.
